Jennifer Karras was a senior managing director at Guggenheim Partners and head of brand marketing and communications. Prior, she held senior communications roles at online education startup UNext, the global PR and communications agency Burson Marsteller, Merchandise Mart Properties and the Chicago Park District. She began her career in Washington, D.C., working for the political consulting firm Murphy & Demory. Jennifer developed expertise over the course of her 25-year career in the areas of corporate and crisis communications, media relations, brand strategy and brand marketing. Jennifer continues to consult for businesses and non-profits and is a photographer.
Jennifer has lived in Lake Forest for 18 years with her husband, Michael. Jennifer and Michael have three children all of whom attended Sheridan Elementary School, Deer Path Middle School and Lake Forest High School. Their youngest daughter is a junior at LFHS. Jennifer is chairman of CROYA, vice chairman of communications for the Lake Forest High School Foundation and serves on the Women’s Leadership Committee of the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center. She is past president of DPM’s APT and has held board positions on LFHS Boosters and Spirit of 67. Jennifer was a student athlete at Ithaca College and studied National Government at American University. She holds a BA in political science from Ithaca.
