Andy Dalkin

Ward 4 Member

Andy and his wife, Teriann, moved to Lake Forest in 2022 after spending most of their adult lives in Chicago and have truly come to love the community and all it has to offer. They have four children ranging from the ages of 25 to 20.

Andy received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University and his juris doctor degree from DePaul University College of Law. Following law school, he spent more than 20 years as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Cook County. After leaving the State’s Attorney’s Office, he transitioned into private practice as a criminal defense attorney and family law practitioner. He later served five years as a Supervising Investigator for the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) in Chicago, overseeing investigations into allegations of police misconduct and officer-involved shootings. Currently, Andy serves as an attorney for the Policeman’s Benevolent and Protective Association Labor Committee, representing the sergeants, lieutenants, and captains of the Chicago Police Department, as well as officers from the Waukegan and Libertyville Police Departments, Lake County Correctional Officers, and several other law enforcement agencies.

Outside of work, Andy enjoys golfing, camping, traveling, playing his bass guitar, and playing softball. He is also an avid supporter of Purdue University athletics. When his children were younger, he dedicated time to coaching their softball and baseball teams and served as an Assistant Scout Master while his son was active in scouting.
