Gene Manzer Grew up in southern Arizona near Tucson. He graduated from Northern Arizona University. His flying career started with a small company in Tucson in 1982. He was hired as a pilot by American Airlines in 1987 and retired in 2022 after 35 years. He and his wife Mary settled in Lake Forest in 1999 raising two sons here. Gene volunteered for the parks and recreation youth sports programs as a baseball and flag football coach and was active in Lake Forest Cub Scout Pack 48 as the Assistant Cubmaster and Boy Scout Troop 48 as Assistant Scoutmaster from 2007-2023.
