NOTICE PURSUANT TO SECTIONS 3.03 AND 9.02 OF THE LAKE FOREST CAUCUS BYLAWS

AN INTERIM MEETING OF THE LAKE FOREST CAUCUS WILL BE HELD ON JANUARY 24, 2026 FROM 8:00 A.M. TO 5:00 P.M. AT THE GORTON CENTER, AT WHICH AN AMENDMENT TO THE LAKE FOREST CAUCUS BYLAWS WILL BE PRESENTED TO THE MEMBERS OF THE LAKE FOREST CAUCUS FOR A VOTE.

The proposed Amendment would add a new Article X to the Bylaws and would renumber the current Article X as “Article XI.”  The proposed new Article X provides for in-person voting at all Lake Forest Caucus general membership meetings, allows the Lake Forest Caucus Committee to implement electronic voting by Lake Forest Caucus general membership as an additional voting option and eliminates any requirement of mail-in ballot voting. This proposed Amendment has been approved by the Caucus Executive Committee, and the Caucus Committee, as well as numerous city leaders whose names appear on the Endorsement Letter accessible here. The text of the proposed new Article X is as follows:

ARTICLE X- IN-PERSON AND ELECTRONIC VOTING

(a)       in-person voting shall be made available;

(b)    the Caucus Committee is allowed to implement electronic voting as an additional voting option;

(c)      each vote cast pursuant to electronic voting shall be deemed to be a vote cast by a voter present at a meeting;

(d)       if voting is done electronically, verification and counting of votes may be provided by one or more reputable third-parties retained for this purpose; and

(e)       voting by mail-in ballot is not required.
