Meet our Proposed Candidate for Mayor

Over the past several months, your neighbors on the Caucus Committee have recruited, interviewed, and vetted candidates for Mayor of Lake Forest. We are proud to share that Dr. Ara Goshgarian will be presented for endorsement at the Annual Meeting on October 6th.

The Mayor leads City Council meetings, appoints residents to City boards and commissions with the Council's approval, and works with the City Manager, who runs the City day to day.

Dr. Goshgarian has spent nearly his whole life in Lake Forest. He grew up here, graduated from Lake Forest High School, and came home to practice orthodontics alongside his father. He later served our community as a Ward 3 member of the Caucus and then on City Council from 2019 to 2025, where he chaired the Public Works and the Property and Public Land Committees and served on the Finance Committee. Ara knows how this city works because he has helped run it and he brings a clear understanding of the challenges and opportunities Lake Forest faces in the years ahead. You can learn more about Ara here.

Come meet Ara and our other candidates at a Meet and Greet on October 1st at Gorton Center from 6:30 - 7:30 pm!

Then please vote at the Annual Meeting on October 6th at Gorton Center, anytime between 12 and 8 pm.

To be eligible to vote at the Lake Forest Caucus Annual Meeting on October 6th, you must be a registered voter with residency in Lake Forest. ID will be required. The Caucus Committee checks IDs against an up-to-date registered voter list, obtained through the Lake County Clerk's office, to verify you are a registered voter in Lake Forest. If you are registered to vote in another state, you will not be permitted to vote at the Annual Meeting.
