To pass, a 2/3rds “YES” vote of those who appear and vote on this Amendment is required. We need all Lake Forest registered voters to appear at the Gorton Center on 10/14 between 2-8 pm and vote “YES” for this Amendment and for our proposed City Council candidates!
The proposed Alternative Voting Methods Bylaws Amendment will add electronic remote voting as a voting option which will allow more Lake Forest residents to vote in future Caucus elections, resulting in election outcomes that are more representative of our community at large. This Amendment will NOT eliminate “in person” voting - that option will remain available to all residents.
The text of the proposed Alternative Voting Methods Amendment and the presentation provided at the public meetings on this Amendment can be found here.
The Caucus Electronic Voting Subcommittee has narrowed its search to two potential vendors that can provide this service: Simply Voting and eBallot. A demo of the Simply Voting process can be viewed here and a demo of the eBallot process here.
The Caucus Committee has recommended the following City Council candidates who are exceptionally qualified to serve our community. Learn more about these candidates here.
Ward 1 Alderman - Nancy Novit (incumbent)
Ward 2 Alderman - Rosemary Kehr
Ward 3 Alderman - Alice LeVert (incumbent)
Ward 4 Alderman - Lloyd Culbertson
