VOTE "YES" FOR THE PROPOSED ALTERNATIVE VOTING METHODS BYLAWS AMENDMENT!

The Caucus Committee is excited to present the Alternative Voting Methods Amendment to the Lake Forest Community for a vote at the Caucus Annual Meeting on October 14, 2025 from 2:00 – 8:00 pm at the Gorton Center.  In order to pass any Bylaws Amendment, a 2/3rds affirmative vote is required. This Amendment will transform voting in Lake Forest and make it accessible to all even those who historically have been unable to vote because they could not be present at the designated time and day to cast their vote.  The text of the proposed Alternative Voting Methods Amendment can be found here and the presentation provided at the public meetings on the Alternative Voting Methods Amendment can be found here.

The inclusion of Electronic Voting appeared in all of the Ad Hoc Committee voting bylaws recommendations. The Caucus Committee formed an Electronic Voting Subcommittee that has been hard at work for the past several months researching and vetting electronic voting potential service providers.  This subcommittee has narrowed its search to two vendors that can provide this service to the Caucus: Simply Voting and eBallot.  If the Alternative Voting Methods Amendment is passed at the Annual Meeting, the Caucus Committee intends to move forward on implementing electronic voting for the community, expeditiously. The implementation of electronic voting will allow more options for future Bylaws Amendments.

You can view a demo of the Simply Voting process here and a demo of the eBallot process here.

The Caucus Committee will also be putting forward candidates for City Council at the Annual Meeting who the Caucus Committee believes are exceptionally qualified to serve our community.  You can learn more about City Council candidates here

Please attend the Annual Meeting and vote Yes for the Alternative Voting Methods Amendment and our City Council candidates!
