The quality of life residents expect in Lake Forest - the schools, the services, the character of the place - depends on the right people stepping forward to lead it.
The Mayor of Lake Forest serves as the head of the City Council in a Council-Manager form of government. The role is part civic leader, part institutional steward - chairing all City Council meetings, working closely with the City Manager on policy and priorities, and serving as the primary representative of Lake Forest to the broader region. It requires leadership experience, financial acumen, strong communication skills, and a genuine understanding of and respect for how this city actually works.
Lake Forest will elect a new Mayor in April 2027. We are looking for candidates who have considered this kind of service and are ready to put their names forward. Our process involves structured interviews, reference checks, and a multi-round evaluation - open to any qualified Lake Forest resident. To express your interest in running for Mayor, please submit a Volunteer Profile Sheet at lakeforestcaucus.com or email the Caucus' President directly at president@lakeforestcaucus.com.
On the School Board front: interviews for District 67 and District 115 candidates begin in mid-June. If you or someone you know is considering a School Board seat, please submit or update your Volunteer Profile Sheet at lakeforestcaucus.com by Friday, May 29.
