A Strong Step Forward

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Lake Forest community for its strong support of the Lake Forest Caucus in the Spring Meeting vote. With 81% voting in favor of the Executive Officer slate, this result confirms that Lake Forest residents believe in the Caucus process and trust the leaders selected to serve.

At the same time, we recognize that 105 members of the community voted “No.” This underscores the importance of continuing to engage, listen, and ensure transparency as we move forward. We are committed to an open and thorough process, especially as we work through the bylaws amendments.

What’s Next for the Caucus?

• The Caucus Committee has been actively reviewing the Ad Hoc Bylaws Committee’s recommendations and evaluating potential revisions.

• We have already re-engaged the Ad Hoc Bylaws Committee and will be meeting with them to discuss edits to their proposed recommendations.

• Completing the bylaws amendment process is a top priority, including a legal review before any public vote on amendments.

• The Caucus has also been hard at work vetting candidates for 11 elected positions, 4 board positions, and 12 Caucus Committee seats.

• The new Caucus year officially begins on April 8th with our annual New/Old Meeting. At this meeting, we will thank outgoing Caucus Committee members for their service, welcome new members, and formally install the newly elected leadership team.

• This is also when the new Caucus Committee members, chosen through the Caucus Connection mail-in ballot, officially join. Thank you to everyone who mailed in their ballots and participated in the process!

We’ve made real progress, but we have a lot of work ahead of us. The Caucus thrives because of community participation, and we invite you to stay engaged, ask questions, and continue being part of the conversation.

The Lake Forest Caucus is a 100% community-supported organization. We do not collect dues and rely solely on contributions from residents to continue our work. Your donation helps us:

• Maintain essential operations, including meeting spaces at Gorton Center and necessary technology tools.

• Revamp our bylaws, ensuring they address past concerns and reflect the needs of the community.

• Explore online voting, a frequently requested initiative to increase accessibility and participation.

• Expand community outreach, driving awareness, engagement, and involvement in the Caucus process.
